Welcome to Megan, our new theatre and arts editor

A big welcome to Megan Stodel, who has just started as the new theatre and arts review editor at The F-Word.

Megan is a recent English graduate and is soon to start a masters in gender and international relations. She was on the committee of the newly-founded University of Bristol Feminist Society, and was a contributing editor for the first issue of their magazine; whilst at university, she was also the LGBT officer for a year. After graduating, Megan travelled for six months, heading to Australia overland, and then interned at the Fawcett Society. She is a lifelong theatre-lover and is excited to be part of The F-Word.

She says:

I would love to see the theatre and arts section of The F-Word expand, so my overall aim is to post reviews significantly more frequently. To do this, I want to find more people who are interested in reviewing, and create a community for discussing opportunities and opinions. I want to have reviews coming in from all over the country, and I also want to cover drama and arts festivals, which is often where new work is exposed. Alongside that, I also would like to ensure that long-running shows and permanent exhibitions are also being reviewed. My aspiration is to have a section that represents a wide variety of theatre and art, so that it is as relevant as possible, with reviews that are interesting to consider whether or not the reader is thinking about attending the reviewed play or exhibition.
